Aren’t you tired of your clammy sleeping bag fabric?  When you put our All-Paca™ Sleeping Bag Liner between you and that clammy nylon - you’ll really notice the difference. Even with baffles, when you move around in a sleeping bag in cold weather, that cold air gets in and makes the nylon bag fabric clammy and cold; but with alpaca fiber - you never feel it - the alpaca fiber is so comfortable and is great at regulating your sleep climate.

All of us who love the backcountry also love gear that is multi-purpose, and our bag liner fits the bill.  Have you ever seen someone walking around camp with their polyester bag liner wrapped around them? Probably not - because there is no reason to. But our All-Paca™ Sleeping Bag Liner makes a GREAT shoulder wrap on cool damp evenings and mornings - and don’t worry, alpaca fiber laughs at dampness. Just throw it in your pack, and it will be fine when you get to the next camp site. Its also great as a stadium blanket, or to just throw in your daypack - you never know when you might need it.

A lot of experienced backpackers use our Sleeping Bag Liner alone as a lightweight summer bag.

We typically ship orders within a week from date of purchase to provide time for processing and packaging as we fulfill and package every order by hand. If we have an influx of orders (i.e. when we drop new inventory), it may take up to two weeks for shipment of items.

Sizing
  • The length for the regular sleeping bag liner is 63" - 65"  but will easily stretch to over 75". The width, laid flat, is 30".

  • The length for the small sleeping bag liner is 60" - 62" and will stretch to 70," with a flat width of 25".

  • Our All-Paca™ Fabric has great stretch and regain, so don't worry about stretching it over your head on chilly nights.

Care

  • Washing ? Ha. Go ahead. Wash it AND tumble dry it if you want to. Our fabric is stable, washing won’t hurt it. Just wash cold, and tumble dry on low to medium heat by itself for 10 minutes. That's all it needs because Alpaca fiber absorbs very little moisture and dries very quickly.  But, you really don’t need to wash it much, or maybe even not at all ever. Alpaca will freshen up on its own if you hang it up, and it is highly resistant to funk-causing bacteria. Note: alpaca wool is susceptible to moth damage, so you will want to store it in such a way to prevent contact with moths.

  • Use a small to medium load, cold water, light cycle (regular cycle is OK), and wash with other performance fabrics & socks. We recommend to NOT wash in large loads, or with heavy fabrics like jeans/towels or garments with zippers.

  • Use any normal detergent. Do not use “washing Soda”, Chlorine OR Peroxide bleaches, or “Oxygen Cleaners”

  • Tumble dry your bag liner on low heat - it will only take approximately 10-15 minutes to dry. Medium to high heat, or drying in large loads with jeans/towels is not recommended.

  • The Fleece products will not exhibit much shrinkage.

  • When you receive your garment it may feel a little flat or stiff from shipping and being folded. If so, you can turn your bag liner inside-out and put it in your dryer with no heat (i.e., the Fluff Cycle) with 3 or 4 wool dryer balls and tumble for 15-20 minutes. That will fluff-up your garment.

  • Our Sleeping Bag Liners can have a very smooth finish or a puckery wrinkled finish based on the lot of yarn used. They all work equally as well, but when they are a little puckered or wrinkled, they will have greater stretch.
  • If you are backpacking or traveling, and need to wash this liner for any reason, and do not have access to regular detergents:

    1. Backpacking: Just rinse with stream water, let air dry, do not use detergent, follow Leave No Trace Principles

    2. Traveling: you can use shampoo, mild liquid dish/hand detergent (just a drop or two) , rinse in a sink, wring out, hang dry or lay it on a towel to dry.

Specifications

Construction

  • The Trail Seam™ - The unique 100% Alpaca fiber fabric deserved a seam that would be worthy of Adventure. We designed our Trail Seam™ for tremendous toughness and durability, so you can be confident the gear will perform under extreme stress and prolonged usage.

  • Weft Knit - 100% Alpaca fiber is knitted into a unique fabric that provides exceptional performance.  Our special knit structure resists “running” - so if you poke a hole in it while you are in the backcountry, the hole may get slightly larger over time, but you don’t have to worry about the hole turning in to a long “run” as experienced in many lightweight knits.

  • Lightweight - Ensures this is a piece of gear you'll never hesitate to throw in your pack.

Details

    • Our Sleeping Bag Liner comes in at 15 oz +/- 1 oz. Weight variability in our Sleeping Bag Liner is due to the natural variability of alpaca fiber size.

    • In cold weather, the All-Paca Sleeping Bag Liner adds approximately 15-18 degrees of warmth to your sleep system. In warm weather, it functions as a standalone sleeping bag. And, just like the All-Paca Fleece Hoodie, the Sleeping Bag Liner insulates when wet and offers superior warmth to weight ratio!

    • Our lightweight Sleeping Bag Liners are all made from 100% Alpaca yarn spun to our specifications.

    • We knit our fabrics and sew our garments in our own North Carolina, USA facility utilizing our Patent Pending process.

    • We design our own products with the help of various Southeastern USA design consultants who use state-of-the-art equipment for digitizing patterns and prototyping new products.

    • Our fabrics are tested at various Southeastern USA testing labs that utilize standard ASTM Test Methods.

    • We import our custom-spun yarn from our trusted partners in Peru - made to our exacting specifications.  We require our vendors to hold Fair Trade, Responsible Alpaca, and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certifications.

    • Since we have extensive Textile Manufacturing expertise, we deal directly with manufacturers - never brokers.

    • Custom Stripes: Actual stripe may be slightly different from the picture shown, as our custom stripe runs have a variable stripe design from beginning to end.  We use our spare yarn to create custom stripes, and that helps us to reduce waste and maintain our sustainability standards.
